What is the Subaru Love Promise?

The Subaru Love Promise is just that. A promise. It is a promise to do right by our community by partnering with nonprofit education, health, community, environment, and animal organizations - to set Subaru apart through our deeds and the deeds of our partners. To be unlike any other car company by doing what is right and good, just for the sake of doing it.

The Love Promise starts with Subaru of America

We at Subaru of America stay true to the Love Promise by partnering with a wide variety of nonprofits and charities. In addition to these partnerships, every year Subaru, our owners, and our retailers join hands in the "Share the Love" event, giving back to charities across the country. Over the past 20 years, Subaru of America has donated over 50 million dollars to causes we care about, and logged over 28,000 volunteer hours.

All of the organizations we support have one thing in common: the unwavering dedication to improve the world and the lives of its people.

The charities' varying focuses and passions include:

Chaplin's Subaru Supporting Studio East!  –  Dana F

Chaplin's Subaru Supporting Studio East!

We would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to Chaplin's Bellevue Subaru for their generous support of Studio East and StoryBook Theater. With their support we are able to continue introducing the youth of our community to the performing arts through theater classes, as audience members and as performers on stage. We serve children, ages 3 through 19 with a comprehensive array of programs designed to engage very young children in the magic of live performance, educate beginning through advanced students in all aspects of performance, and involve our community in the arts through public performances and outreach. Our programs are accessible to any student regardless of experience, financial circumstance, or special needs. Through practicing the art and craft of theater, students learn responsibility, discipline, and focus. They explore their creativity as well as their humanity. They learn to rely on themselves, to work with others, and to find joy and confidence in self-expression, to lead and to be part of a team. By exploring other lives and ideas through theater, students develop into compassionate human beings. And through their exposure to as well as their involvement in the arts, they become the artists, arts patrons and audiences of the future. THANK YOU for helping continue to enrich the youth in our community through performing arts. Lani Brockman Studio East creates opportunities for young people to discover and explore the performing arts.

Vertfest 2016  –  Benj W

Vertfest 2016

The Vertfest backcountry festival is a fundraising event at the Alpental Ski Area for the Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC) involving the now legendary Monika Johnson Memorial Uphill/Downhill Rally, and clinics on winter backcountry safety. Chaplin's Bellevue Subaru stepped up for the second year to sponsor the event and thus provided critical support to NWAC, enabling us to continue providing the avalanche forecasts and free avalanche education that keep people safe and alive in the Northwest backcountry. The Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC) is a collaborative effort between the US Forest Service Northwest Avalanche Center and the non-profit Northwest Avalanche Center. The mission of NWAC is to save lives and reduce the impacts of avalanches on recreation, industry and transportation in the Cascade and Olympic Mountains of Washington and northern Oregon through mountain weather and avalanche forecasting, data collection and education. We are extremely grateful for the support of Chaplain's Bellevue Subaru!

Chaplin's Subaru and the Butterfly Heroes Program  –  Tyson C

Chaplin's Subaru and the Butterfly Heroes Program

Over the winter months, monarch butterflies in Mexico begin to make the journey north to the United States in early spring. Soon after they leave Mexico, pairs of monarch's mate. As they reach the southern United States, females will look for available milkweed plants to lay eggs. Monarchs are truly spectacular migrants, because the butterflies know the correct direction to migrate even though they have never made the journey before. They follow an internal "compass" that points them in the right direction each spring and fall. The monarch migration is one of the greatest natural phenomena in the insect world. Here's where Chaplin's Subaru is here to help. We have partnered with the National Wildlife to help these majestic creatures combat rapidly declining populations in recent years. For the month of April as part of the Subaru Loves the Earth initiative, Chaplin's Subaru will have a butterfly habitat planter on-site. The planter will be full of milkweed to help these beautiful monarchs lay their eggs. This is a great opportunity to introduce your children to the environment and how they can too help make an impact. Come by and check it out. We will also be giving out milkweed packets to create your own butterfly garden at home!

A Celebration of 25 Years in Our Community!

Chaplin's Bellevue Subaru served as the Presenting Sponsor for the Bellevue Youth Theatre's Benefit, celebrating 25 years in our community, January 23, 2016 - it was an evening of song, dance and comedy with A Musical Journey of Broadway! BYT is an all-inclusive theater program, where everyone has a role, providing theatrical experience, artistic development, and leadership skills on the Eastside. BYT has grown to serve over 2,000 performers as they showcase their talents in front of 6,000+ audience members each year. The youth in our community find their voice, and themselves, while performing onstage! Thank you Chaplin's for making the evening so special, and for supporting this gem of a program right in your backyard!

Food Drive to Support Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank  –  Tyson C

Food Drive to Support Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank

Every winter Chaplin's Subaru partners with The Summit at Snoqualmie to give 2 LTD Season Passes to every buyer that Purchases or Leases a New Subaru from Chaplin's. This year, we were provided in addition to the Season passes, 174 Daily Lift tickets. Chaplin's Subaru along with The Summit at Snoqualmie knew that these passes should be used to benefit our community. We decided to give away 1 daily lift ticket to everyone that brought in at least 2 Non perishable food items for a Food Drive. We had a great response from our community from some people bringing in bags full of food to young children bringing cans of food to be able to help those in need. Chaplin's Subaru decided to donate all of the food collected to the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank. After all of the passes were gone, we had a mountain of food. We were able to donate 560lbs of canned food with the help of our customers and community. Thank you to our community, customers, employees, Subaru of America and The Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank for making this possible. Love Promise.

Chaplin's Subaru Hosts Dog Food Drive  –  Gina T

Chaplin's Subaru Hosts Dog Food Drive

At the beginning of October, we discussed how we could help a local animal shelter. The Seattle Humane of King county is located just a few blocks from the dealership and we knew we needed to partner with them to help. We decided that the weekend of October 23rd through the 25th, we would host a Dog food drive. We promoted it across the dealership and to over 30,000 people via our Facebook page. We raised from various donations 10 large bags of dog food. The dog food was delivered to the Humane Society and will be distributed to our furry friend owners that might be going through a tough time financially. It will also be distributed to senior citizens that might be struggling to pay for food as well. Chaplin's Subaru is grateful that we could partner with such a great organization.

Chaplin's Subaru was fortunate enough to be able to partner with The Seattle Humane Society for their annual Santa Paws Event. This is an annual event where Pet owners in our community can come down and take Santa pics with their pets. This is a great event for the organization as it provides exposure to their main cause, Pet adoption. Chaplin's Partnered with them with both promotion via social media and on-site marketing. Chaplin's Subaru was honored to be partnered with such a great organization in our community.

Chaplin's Bellevue Subaru Employees Go Above and Beyond  –  Teri M

Chaplin's Bellevue Subaru Employees Go Above and Beyond

Hi Nick, This email is a bit late in getting to you, but nonetheless, I wanted to write and let you know how pleased I am with your service department. I am not sure which month it was (maybe June of this year) that I went into an Oil Can Henrys for a routine oil change. After a day or so of terrifying driving with a bucking and stalling engine, I brought my Subaru Impreza in to have it looked at. The gentleman who worked on my car, Scott, was SO awesome!! He quickly found out that the problem was that the transmission tank had been drained and the oil tank topped off. He fixed everything up in no time, and didn't seem to mind that I gave him a big hug when he was done. I also have to thank Bill who went way out of his way to pick me up at work at the hospital in Kirkland during rush hour traffic so that I could return to your shop to collect my car. Overall, I have been very pleased with every aspect of your business, from the initial buying experience up to this latest encounter. I have definitely learned my lesson to get my car serviced by professionals only. Thank you again!!! Teri Miller
